Asheville is such a lovely town with a unique and diverse population.  It has all the necessities of a larger city with the feel of a small town. As for restaurants, there is a wonderful BBQ restaurant just down the street named Luella's. There are several establishments that offer treats such as homemade ice cream and fudge. We have a variety of grocery stores nearby as well.  There is a Fresh Market and an Ingles just 5 minutes away.  You can find many organic stores in the area as well.
This property is situated on the side of a mountain which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains.  It attracts wildlife to enjoy, including birds and bunnies.  We have lovely flowers planted in the yard and have grown wonderful fruits and veggies. Asheville is an arts community that offers unique experiences like the outdoor music concerts in the summer, a large farmers market, and there are farms close by where we buy fresh eggs and meats.
 
We enjoy hiking the Blue Ridge Mountain trails or just walking the quiet streets nearby.  "The property is on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with the parkway within hiking distance.  The Arboretum is a short 20 minute drive on the parkway, and the beautiful Biltmore Estate is 20 minutes through town.  The UNC, Asheville is a only 10 minutes away with a lovely Botanical Garden with wonderful trails to enjoy.  In town are many specialty shops and a highlight for anyone is Mast Country store located in town.

    COMMENTS/RECOMMENDATIONS: World-class view with wonderful peace and quiet along with privacy. Loved the open floor plan, the wall of windows. The in-law apartment a real plus.

    Gotta love this gorgeous home in Beaverdam, a desirable neighborhood north of Asheville NC. Wonderful views where you can take a deep breath and exhale for a long time! Imagine coming home to the country when you are only a few minutes to downtown Asheville and all it offers. This is also a rare contemporary home in Asheville NC - if you are tired of looking at all of the traditional inventory, this one will be a breath of fresh air

    Gorgeous! It's amazing when you can find views and privacy like this so close to town! It feels like a little mountain retreat yet you are only 5 minutes from Merrimon Avenue!
