153 Big Sky Drive- Custom Built Mountain Estate
The things I love about our town is that our house is in the country, which is the atmosphere I was raised in, but with the benefits of a city less than 20 minutes away. We have a MALL! and BONUS a outlet mall is coming! We have awesome restaurants! We have the most amazing spa resort (Grove Park Inn). We have outdoor activities like hiking, zip lines, rafting, tubing, water skiing and snow skiing. We have the Biltmore House! I mean if this place was good enough for the Vanderbilts, well, need I say more? We have great parks and nightlife. We have a huge music scene. We love our running programs. We love our high school football with fierce competitions between local teams. And it is a wonderful place for retirees and for raising a family.
We love to eat at Bonefish on Tunnel Road and Carrabba's on Tunnel Road and Airport Road. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is a place we go usually once a month or so. We enjoy going to Biltmore Park for a movie and then dinner at 131 Main or Hickory Tavern.
The Ingles on Leicester Highway is the GOTO place for groceries but I also love to go the Earth Fare at Westgate for the organic selection and the deli they have. Its incredible! For farm fresh options, I always go to the Farmers Market. The have the best in flowers and plants and the most incredible "farm to table" food. My uncle actually comes from my home town (Lake Lure) to sell his vegetables. I love my veggies!! We have two gas stations and a Dollar General is steps away...just saying.
I was drawn to the fact that we could have more privacy and an incredible view without leaving the school district and our friends in this area. This is the place my husband grew up in and for me it feels like home. A small town close to big city. Couldn't get any better. We own two gas stations in this community and are proud to support our local people. It is small town where you can get as connected as you want or be a reclusive as you want. We enjoy church and family. We love boating and traveling. Our family is big into sports either by participating in games or watching. We love to workout and train. We support our local schools by being on the local Booster Club Board and Advisory Committee for Erwin High School. I coach cheerleading and cross country at the small private school our children attended. Both attend or has attended public high school. Our son is currently attending UNC Charlotte and is a sophomore or daughter is a sophomore at Erwin High.
Our neighborhood is great for privacy but also it has a lots of children. Our house is situated so that if you want to stay out of the hassle of kids banging down the door, you are fine. But if you want large quantities of kids, you just pass thru the private gate and BAM! you have oodles!! We have a number of retired people but we also have new families. New houses are springing up and houses new on the market are being snatched up.

Amazing construction and really big views! The lower level entertainment area is very appealing. I love the detail in allthe tray ceilings and electronic features throughout the home. The kitchen also has many great features such as a heating lamp to keep your creations warm.

Every inch of this home screams quality - this is really a castle available to just one discerning Royalty of the mountains!
ReplyDeleteTruly one of the most beautiful homes in Buncombe county. This one has it all, AMAZING views, large open chef's kitchen, a game room complete with its own movie theater. Gorgeous!

Very approachable yet layers of amenities for this level of value. Great property and the deer in the front yard on the way in and out was a nice touch as well.
ReplyDeleteThis was such an amazing home to be in. They did not hold back on anything. From a home gym, to a home theater, to a game room...amazing! The floor plan is functional and welcoming. Must see.
ReplyDeleteThe Turkey Creek area of Western North Carolina is spectacular. This home has a million dollar view which goes on forever. The style of this home in dramatic and romantic. The kitchen is is right out of Architectural Digest and a dream come true for the gourmet cook!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many wonderful amenities to this home, but the game winner for me will always be the entertainment spaces with the functionality of being a home. I want to loose guests to the cinema, the kitchen, or share long talks over looking the mountains with a glass of wine in hand. However, return when the weekend ends to the comfort of coffee and silence of this country estate.

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing house! Everything is absolutely beautiful, from the huge rolling yards, to the natural stone tile floor, to the beautiful deep colors of the hardwood. Incredible views, home looks like it's on the top of the world! The outside is almost as spectacular as the inside. Huge ceilings, big flat driveway, beautiful windows and natural light. Amazing!

Wow! If you want to pair your love of the WNC mountains, amazing views, and a slew of tangible property attributes, you really need to enjoy this home. I love a good kitchen, and I'd probably have to have a day bed nearby so I could just sleep near my cooking space, but I digress. One of the most special properties I've seen in quite awhile!
