We love Weaverville because we love living in a small town. We love being able to go to downtown Weaverville from our house in a matter of minutes. We enjoy going for a brisk morning walk or going to Lake Louise and walking around the Lake.
We love the Pizzeria across from the Post office, IHOP, Stoney Knob Cafe, Main Street Grill, La Carretta and Well Bred Bakery to name a few. Also, Ingles has a premium meat department and a great little sub shop too!
There are 2 main grocery stores in Weaverville, conveniently located just minutes from our house. Wal-Mart, Lowes, Tractor Supply, Reems Creek Nursery, are also just minutes away. The Post Office, Police Department/City Hall and Fire Department are close as well. The Weaverville Primary School and Elementary School are within walking distance from the house. There's a Farmers Market on Wednesday afternoons next to Lake Louise, and a wonderful little fruit and vegetable stand on Main Street as well.
We love the location in Weaverville, and close proximity to Asheville, Marshall, and Blue Ridge Parkway. The easy access to the interstate is very important to our jobs.
We love being able to be in Asheville in about 10 minutes, but have the relaxing small town atmosphere to come home to. We were drawn to the floor plan because it has a wonderful guest room/master bedroom on the 1st floor that is always ready for company. We like that the 2nd floor has a master bedroom, walk-in closet, and 2 other bedrooms upstairs. We were excited to have a full basement with easy access outside. The fireplace was also a draw for us. And we liked the 2-car garage. There are many trees on the property with a small creek running next to our property. Also the wonderful screened in porch that we've spent many hours on with friends and family ʺporch sittingʺ as my Dad would say.
The weather is perfect!!! We love watching the leaves change in the fall, watching the flowers and trees bloom in the spring. We love the critters (squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies, birds, raccoons, groundhogs, coyotes and even an occasional bear) visit the property. We enjoy the back way to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Folk Art Center via Reems Creek. Downtown Weaverville is wonderful with the town square and Clock. Arts in Autumn Festival in September within walking distance, many parades, terrific fireworks.
Our property has a little crab-apple tree that produces wonderful fruit for Jams. Also we have a nice garden spot that produces, great tomatoes, beans, potatoes, lettuce, spinach, corn and squash. We have many trees to include: Hickory, Walnut, Cherry, Red Bud, Dogwood, Mulberry, Crab-apple, Tulip, 2 flowering Magnolia trees and one smoke tree. We planted a Leland Cyprus border, also planted a White Pine border. Also, we use Weaverville Pharmacy and Rodney's Auto Repair.
Favorite shops are Shop Around the Corner, Wright's Outfitters and Mangum Pottery - again all within walking distance!! Also our water comes from Forks of Ivy, known to be one of the best municipal water sources around. Weaverville has a great little monthly newsletter for all Weaverville residents. Large kitchen with a hard maple island counter top with pull-out trash and recycle containers, pantry, large windows to let the sun shine in!. Fabulous front porch!
There is a fabulous, highly rated Golf Course just 5 minutes away.
We have wonderful neighbors behind us as well as on up the street. An uncrowded, unhurried, peaceful, friendly neighborhood. Everyone is friendly!
What a great home within walking distance to downtown Weaverville and an easy stroll to Lake Louise. The home has great flow and floorplan. I love how the dining area heads right out to an open porch. The outdoor space is beautifully done. Don't pass this one by.
