The things I love about Hendersonville include the pace of life (easy), the many nice restaurants, and most importantly the warmth and friendliness of the people. The surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains offer great hiking and scenic drives and of course the fall colors.
We love to get a quick bite at Hot Dog World and a steak at Binion's Steakhouse, and there are a number of good BBQ restaurants in Hendersonville. You've gotta try the ice cream at Gop's too! Grocery stores are plentiful in the area and close by to the neighborhood.
We were drawn to this house as a starter home for our son when he moved to the area, and we've renovated it to be comfortable, secure, and low maintenance. The proximity to the 40 acre lake is a big plus as the walks around the lake and other activities are both relaxing and healthy. The lake outflow (spillway) assures that no flooding will occur even when hard rains come.
The Asheville area is filled with opportunities for recreation and fun outings. Biltmore Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville are close by, and try Navitat Canopy Tours for a more adventurous outing.
A few other things to mention are the historic tours and sites in the area, e.g. Carl Sandburg Home, and the short distance to other cities in the area. Our hobbies are walking, hiking, biking and camping and the area has many places to offer in these areas.
