The things we love about Asheville are the beautiful mountains, hiking, fishing in the beautiful pristine lakes and rivers, white water rafting,and kayaking. Asheville also has a very vibrant downtown, with concerts, drum circles and a plethora of activities that are as diverse as its inhabitants.
Asheville also has a number of great restaurants to satisfy any taste. And of course, Asheville is the home of the famous Biltmore Estate, a must see for anyone who loves history. Asheville is a great place to live!
We love to eats at Papa's Pizza which is just a few blocks from our subdivision, Papa's and Beer Mexican restaurant, The Lobster Trap, Carmel's and The Chop House, just to name a few.
We have an Ingles Supermarket just blocks away from our subdivision along with drug stores and many fast food restaurants. Also there is a furniture store, a window treatment store,and various auto repair shops.
We were drawn to the tree lined streets and the long driveway to the garage that is on the side of the house, so that the garage is not the focal point of the front of the house. We loved the expansive front porch where we could have afternoon coffee and visit with friends and family. In the summer time when we are on the porch it feels like we are in a tree house.
What is not to love about a small town situated in the middle of the majestic Blue Ridge mountains? There are many beautiful churches and synagogues in the area. The weather is nearly perfect, with usually a white Christmas, and several ski resorts close by, gorgeous lush flora in the spring, and warm summer days with low humidity.
The fall is a huge attraction when folks come from all over the country to see the fall colors in the mountains. We enjoy fishing, hiking, white water rafting,and visiting the nearby Cherokee reservation and casino.
Our neighborhood is great for quiet times sitting on the porch. Harmony subdivision has only 3 streets and all end in a Cul-De-Sac, so there's not a lot of traffic. It is also perfect for school aged children since there are an elementary, middle, and high school all within blocks of the subdivision. It's also located just minutes from downtown and easy access to the interstate.
