The things I love about Asheville are all the social events, the proximity to all kinds of parks and forests, kayaking, Biltmore Estate, numerous restaurants, the neighborhood, and the great weather. 

When we bought the property we were drawn to the scenery, the quiet neighborhood, the year round mountain views, the style of the house, the over one acre of property, the proximity to shopping, the yard, the other nice houses on the street, the spacious rooms, four bedrooms all on the main level, the man cave upstairs, and Oh yes, the scenery!

We love the area for the weather, scenery, restaurants, and all the "fairs" in Asheville and the surrounding area. There are activities for all. A few other things I can mention is the diversity of the neighborhood in terms of ages, kids, etc and the fun we have with the neighbors.

There are plenty of grocery stores, depending on what your looking for. We shop at Ingles, Trader Joes, Go Grocery, and others. We love to eat at numerous restaurants. Too many to name.

We enjoy going out to eat, visiting Biltmore, relaxing around the pool, watching an occasional bear, kayaking, gardening (we grow tomatoes, beans, peppers, peas, jalapenos, and anything else we like), going to water falls, and how close we are to many national parks.

Our neighborhood is great for the mountain views, fantastic neighbors, in the country but only 10 minutes to shopping. The neighborhood is very quiet, and many of us in the neighborhood get together for impromptu parties or dinners, plus we have many swimming parties. Quiet and peaceful!
