The things I love about Black Mountain are the beauty of the mountains that surround our town. The home town feel wherever you go, the variety of restaurants, entertainment, stores and events to keep your life fulfilled. Black Mountain is only 10 minutes away from Asheville where you will find larger shopping and other entertainment opportunities.

For a town the size of Black Mountain,  there is no shortage of top quality, without the huge price, restaurants. From wood fired pizza and pasta at Fresh to pit BBQ at Phil's, Black Mountain offers many casual dining establishments as well as a few  "white linen" eateries.

There are several grocery shopping choices in Black Mountain.  There is an Ingles super store and a "normal" size Bi-Lo.  There are two Dollar General store, several auto parts locations, several convenience stores with one being 24 hours. Fast food restaurants and several hotels.

We were drawn to our property for its character. This place is more than a house, it is a home and it draws you in. The large screened in deck will give you hours of pleasant time to talk or read, to eat a meal or share a dessert.  It is located in beautiful Ridgecrest, outside the limits of the town where no city taxes have to be paid.

The Swannanoa Valley is so attractive. The mountains are lush and green during the late spring through early fall. And then there are the most beautiful colors from the hardwoods turning in October; eye candy!

There are so many events happening in Black Mountain that you will never lack for something fun, interesting or perhaps educational to draw your attention.

The choices for hobbies are plentiful.  Black Mountain offers a very nice golf course, disc golf, tennis courts, walking/ running trails, and is so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway for cycling or running.  There are book, knitting, pottery clubs and classes.  The Senior center at beautiful Lake Tomahawk offers bridge, lunches and can be leased for special events.
