My home is an historic house located in a great location in North Asheville. It is within walking distance to UNCA, and downtown. It is just off Merrimon Ave which has any shopping you may need.
My favorite restaurants are Cheddars, Ira's downtown, the Olive Garden and Red Lobster. My favorite grocery stores are Trader Joe's, The Fresh Market, Ingles, and Harris Teeter, all right on Merrimon Ave.
If you have pets or just enjoy walking there is a park just 5 minutes down Merrimon. The parkway is nearby, as well as a great library. If you have a toddler and need a place to leave them, there is a day care in the neighborhood. I love the location also because it is quiet and there are caring neighbors who get together to socialize. If you like walk, run, fish or go boating or go picnicking, Beaver Lake is just a 10 minute ride north of the house. Davidson River is also close, which has many great campsites. There is a path that goes through the neighborhood to UNCA which is great for walking.

I was a Choral Director and an Artistic Director for festivals at Carnegie Hall. That is one reason I moved to Asheville. There are many cultural activities including the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, the Asheville Symphony Chorus, the Mozart Festival, the Asheville Choral Society, and many Art and Craft studios.
I fell in love with the house on 61 Montview Drive. I always wanted a beautiful house with a white picket fence. The house is in great shape. It is ready for someone to move in. I really love the dining room with stained glass doors that open up to a wrap-around deck (fantastic views), and the new loft I added. The deck is great for cookouts in the summer, and you can fit a lot of furniture on the deck. I have natural gas heating which is is inexpensive and very warm and air conditioning which is rarely needed.I hope that someone who buys the house will put as much love into it as I have the twenty past years.
My neighborhood is great - neighbors are very friendly and they watch out for you and your house. We have parties, birthday celebrations, get-togethers most weekends. There is no traffic at our house because it's on a circle, so there is no thru-traffic.
