'Seller Says'
I like the town of Weaverville. Main Street is cute and the people are very friendly. Pottery artists, bakery (yummy), antiques (very cute), pub, sushi. Something for everybody for sure.
There is also a zip line place about 15 miles from here but on our road. I love to cook in my kitchen. We have 2 grocery stores within a half mile of each other, there is a Lowe's another half mile or so down that same road and a Walmart across the street from Lowes.
We have a Sisters of Mercy on that same road and they are awesome. Also, a Big Lots, Bojangles, a few banks etc.
When my realtor pulled up to my house after showing me properties in Asheville I just fell in love. I was hot and tired but then I got out of the car and it was 10 degrees cooler. I thought "this is it" and then we went in and the beautiful hard wood floors and then the master suite that takes up the entire second floor had me at hello!! You can see the far away mountains and I knew I had to live here. The sunsets from my porch and master suite are spectacular.
I love the Asheville area, and I only live 15-20 minutes away. If you are a foodie or love chocolate, coffee, or beer, this is your Wonderland. I am an artist and I was in the Woolworth Walk downtown, great place to shop and sell your art. A lot of galleries, music on the street. The River Arts District has artists that you can watch perform magic right in front of you the way only artists can. Don't miss Jonas Gerard, his studio is in that area, he performs masterpieces in front of an audience to Latin music, you become instant fans of his work. Look him up. Multiple parks, dog parks and I've seen people float in inner tubes down the French Broad.
I have never seen bad traffic, I don't drive in rush hour so I can't speak to that. What brought me to this area is the weather, couple weeks we have hot temps but still bearable in the shade. And the winters haven't been bad. I think the mountain ranges protect us here.
I was told we are on the same grid as the high school, which is good because they get their power back on faster. I haven't been without power for more than 2 hours, it's usually 1 hour.
I love to paint, I got inspiration from the sunsets, the fall leaves and the beauty of the mountains. Our neighborhood is great, when you drive onto the street you feel instantly safe and secure. Because on either side of the entrance, police officers and their families live, like sentries at the gate, and right across from my house is another police family. Being single I have never been spooked or frightened.
