The things that we love about Black Mountain is the small town atmosphere and the beauty of the mountains surrounding it. Still has the local hardware store and other businesses that have thrived for years. Our home is conveniently located between Black Mountain, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. The movies Dirty Dancing and the Last of the Mohicans were filmed within 15 minutes of our home.
There are lots of great restaurants in the area. Black Mountain Bistro and Catering in Black Mountain is a favorite. Also enjoy La Strada in downtown Lake Lure along with Bald Mountain resort in Lake Lure.

For your grocery shopping needs, we have the mothership of Ingles supermarkets. Bi-Lo is also in town and both are very nice and new.

When we brought the property we were attracted to the stream, walking trails and the location. I liked to play golf and there are 3 golf courses in Lake Lure and 1 in Black Mountain. The distance to Asheville is only about 30 minutes and that gives us multiple shopping opportunities.
Personally, I like living outside of town and having the convenience of multiple locations to visit within a short drive. The views while driving to each location are amazing. Hendersonville is another town that is close by and that is where they have the apple festival each year.



Another thing we really enjoy doing is stting on the front porch listing to the waterfall below. The stream is very soothing.

 We really like that traffic is at a minimum. So many places to visit within a short distance.

 We enjoy going into Chimney Rock and visiting the craft stores. Fishing for trout at multiple locations. Walking down to the stream and feeding the trout with bread is a hobby for the whole family. Being able to go visit Biltmore Estate with out of town guests during the holidays is nice.

 Our neighborhood is great for getting along with one another and just enjoying a peace of mind each day knowing that each one is there to help if needed. We have a very quite and quaint neighborhood and might see others walking by the stream and/or just observing nature with the deer jumping through the field below or watering in the creek.

 Duke Energy is our electric company and the cost is reasonable. The home was insulated well and we have energy efficient appliances
