When we bought this property we loved the huge backyard and the quietness. I remember telling my husband I felt like we were camping by the night sounds and birds in the morning. This is really such a tranquil place yet less than a half mile from I240, I40 and I26, but you would never know it.
Also, our home is within walking distance of Gasaway Park and about a half mile from Carrier Park and maybe a mile from Malvern Hills Pool.
Our backyard is so beautiful and with some tender loving care it could be on the cover of Southern Living! West Asheville is a neighborhood for all ages and types of people with so much to do and some of the nicest people ever! We have enjoyed gardening and entertaining.
West Asheville is a mesh of the best of all. It is reminiscent of 40 years ago when you never had to leave your neighborhood because everything you needed was within walking distance. But at the same time shops and stores are new and upbeat. What I love the most is people walking everywhere at all times of day and evening. Safe, fun sense of community, West Asheville really is the best neighborhood in Asheville!
One thing I have noticed about our utilities is that our area rarely loses power due to storms. People all around Asheville would be without power but we always had power. Asheville City always keeps our area well maintained too. And our home has natural gas, which is so reasonable. I have not noticed unreasonable utilities at all and again, Asheville takes very good care of its customers.
